Though I am willing to admit that my dog is very spoiled (and she knows it), I am also willing to admit that her life is not nearly as glam as many of the dogs who call celebrities their parents. Actually, those dogs are probably living better lives than most of us humans ever will. Napping by a giant fireplace in a massive mansion, traveling in private jets (or at least in first class), eating only the finest — or most expensive — treats. I’d definitely trade places with them and be a famous dog if I could!
Sometimes, they also have the opportunity to join their humans at work, and not only do these humans have cool jobs, but the celeb dog in question is probably getting all kinds of pets and attention from people who are so excited to meet him. Case in point: Luke Bryan’s dog, who made quite an impression on everyone who happened to be around when he visited the set of American Idol recently.
@lukebryanAttaboy, Choc! Tune in to #idol now @AmericanIdol
On Sunday, March 24, Luke Bryan took to TikTok to share behind-the-scenes footage of his Chocolate Lab, Choc, joining him at work as the most formidable (and adorable) judge the show has ever seen.
Ahead of Choc’s American Idol debut, Luke showed off some of his dog’s most impressive tricks. He was even able to go fetch the golden ticket and bring it to him. Somehow, I feel like finding out you’re going to Hollywood would be way cooler if it happened because this dog presented the golden ticket to you.
Luke’s fellow judge, Katy Perry, was quite taken with Choc… not that I can blame her. She even tried to get him to “heel,” though her voice may not have been deep enough for him to listen to her. Hey, Choc — you need to listen to ladies, too!
All in all, it seems like it was a very productive set visit.
More about Choc
If you follow Luke on social media, you’re already familiar with Choc (and his brother, an English Cocker Spaniel named Boss). Choc and Boss actually have their own Instagram account,
There’s also a reason that Choc knows all of those commands so well. He was shown at the United Kennel Club show in March and showed off the blue ribbon he won. Clearly, it was well deserved!
Luke adopted Choc as a puppy back in 2017, and it looks like it was love at first sight. While he was much smaller back then — and had no idea he’d become a TV star and a dog show competitor — it looks like he knew he ended up with the right humans.
More Choc on American Idol, please!
