Have you ever tried to exercise with your pup? It’s an activity most won’t allow us to do on our own. They just can’t seem to pass up the opportunity to lick our faces when we’re posing in downward dog.

Take notes from this toddler if you frequently encounter this challenge. When his Cane Corso tried to interrupt his dancing, he gently commanded him to his bed. It’s an impressive feat for an adult, never mind a child.

Watch him handle his big dog like a total pro in a video from January 12:

This baby is a boss. It also helps that his dog Drax is exceptionally well-behaved. While this little boy was trying to get in his daily exercise, Drax stood in front of him and the TV, presumably wanting to play. However, this tiny tot wanted to complete his workout first and instructed his dog to go straight to his bed. This obedient dog quickly ran over and laid down. Wow! That doesn’t happen by accident. For a dog to behave this way, it takes a lot of consistent training. It’s a perfect example of putting in the effort and reaping the reward.

Training a well-behaved dog

As with any dog, it’s important to begin their training early. This helps to set a foundation for their behavior. It’s just as vital for helping us to bond with our dogs as playing with or petting them can be. The AKC describes while Cane Corsos are very smart, they aren’t all that eager to please. This is why it’s important to train them in short, fun sessions, with high-value rewards. Early socialization, especially with young children, is also an important part of their development. Continued exposure to new people and new experiences will also help to ensure they maintain a healthy attitude. This is true with most dogs.

This big dog’s outstanding behavior impressed people who watched the clip. Viewer @SeanTheGreatest reacted, “I love the instant response! No hesitation to the command whatsoever.” It’s something we should all strive to achieve with our pets. Viewer @NicoleBrewer expressed, “Oh my goodness, he went straight to his bed fast!” Not only that, when he got there, he knew to give his human brother his full attention.

It’s easy to grow weary when training our dogs. However, when we put in the effort, it’s always worthwhile, even if the time it takes to see it requires a bit of patience.
