The City of Coronado has announced that residents in the Country Club area, west of Alameda Boulevard to Naval Base San Diego, are being asked to stop flushing toilets, running sinks, showers and faucets for 24 hours due to severe storms.
According to the city, the severe rains have damaged the sewer system and caused a high risk of flooding. This does not affect the drinking water system, but the city said that they are working on repairs and residents are urged to conserve water in the meantime.
An emergency shelter has also been opened at the Community Center for residents in the impacted area. The shelter will be open 24 hours a day, according to the city, and regular updates will be made available.
