It’s never too early to get ready for Christmas. While Thanksgiving has yet to happen, that doesn’t mean the community isn’t preparing for the holidays.

Check out upcoming vendors, gift sales and a holiday party.

18 November: The annual FOCUS Holiday Boutique will present shopping from over 40 local artisans. Start your holiday shopping at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The $10 admission includes refreshments, pastries, specialty coffees and entertainment and lunch is available for purchase.

All proceeds benefit disadvantaged San Diego children.

18 November: Continue your holiday shopping with the Friends of the Library Pre-holiday sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the library plaza.

Find gift items, DVDs, audiobooks, holiday-themed books, holiday cards, children’s books, coffee-table books and even kid-size tea party items. Please bring your own bags. Credit and debit cards preferred.

21 November: The San Diego Shakespeare Society staged reading of “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” (Part 1) will take place in the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m.

The director, Charlie Riendeau, has participated in three Old Globe Shakespeare Festivals, several years of their winter seasons, and the first two Old Globe Educational Tours.

He has acted in over 100 full productions, directed 25, and has participated in numerous readings for various theaters around the county. He has performed in London and New York and holds a degree in Theatre from SDSU.

Registration is suggested for free on Eventbrite.

6 December: Film Forum Coronado will screen “The Other Son” in the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library from 6-8:45 p.m.

Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

“The Other Son” is Lorraine Levy’s procreative and tantalizing parable filmed in Israel and the West Bank. The movie focuses on two young men—one Israeli, the other Palestinian—who discover they were accidentally switched at birth and the rippling effect it has on the two families.

8 December: The San Diego Mandolin Orchestra will present a concert of holiday music at 3:30 p.m. in the Winn Room.

The San Diego Mandolin Orchestra has played for more than 50 years and is part of the Classical Mandolin Society of America. Instrument groupings that make the orchestra include mandolins, octave mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, basses, a zither, and guitars.

Registration is not required for this concert.

9 December: The Coronado Historical Association presents the 100th birthday party of the Laundry Truck from 4 to 6 p.m.

Help us celebrate the 100th birthday of the iconic Model T Laundry Truck with an unforgettable afternoon filled with history, fun, and community spirit, organizers say.

Step back in time and explore the remarkable history of the truck that revolutionized laundry services in Coronado.

Tickets are $75 for families, $20 for adults and $10 for children.

9 December: The FOCUS Creating Magic Holiday Party is taking place at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club from 5 to 10 p.m.
