On Thursday, Nov. 9, a dog mom shared a funny video of one of her Golden Retrievers named Corona. In the clip, this young dog is experiencing the very first snowfall of the season, and he seems to be a bit perplexed by the phenomenon.
While some dogs have an inherent love for the snow, others feel a bit more ambivalent about the frosty precipitation. Corona can’t seem to make up his mind!

Oh my goodness, this dog is too cute and funny! This pup was standing still as a statue as the fluffy flakes fell down around him and only moved a muscle to look around in disbelief. It seems to us that Corona was debating whether or not he was going to demand a trip to the tropics!

Some dogs enjoy snow for its sensory stimulation and the novelty it brings to their environment. The soft, cold texture under their paws, the crisp scent of the air, and the opportunity to engage in playful activities like digging and chasing snowflakes contribute to the appeal.
However, while many Golden Retrievers are known for their love of water and outdoor activities, some pups like Corona might be less inclined to enjoy snow due to its cold and wet nature. His coat is on the shorter side, which lacks the insulation of thicker fur and may make him more sensitive to the low temperatures associated with snowy conditions. Additionally, the icy texture under his paws might be uncomfortable for some dogs, leading them to prefer warmer environments or indoor activities during snowy weather.
While Corona is debating how he truly feels about the weather, there are many other dogs who are taking the opportunity to play and prance in the snow. If he decides that the snow isn’t for him, we hope he is able to curl up in front of a toasty fire with a yummy treat to chew on as winter passes by outside!
