The Hotel del Coronado is toasting its 135 year anniversary with a free family-friendly Coronado community event on Sunday that commemorates the rich history of the hotel with a seaside Victorian-inspired carnival.
The 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. event will be filled with complimentary entertainment including vintage strolling performers, aerialists, tight-rope walkers, bubble artistry, sandcastle exhibits and more, according to organizers.
The event also will feature a beachfront vintage game gallery with nostalgic carnival games including milk can toss, ring toss, penny pitch, skittle strike and Plinko.
All carnival game proceeds will benefit local charitable organizations, according to organizers.
Throughout the boardwalk, guests also can experience nostalgic treats like caramel and chocolate dipped apples, kettle popcorn, soft pretzels, corn dogs and more, while a custom 12-foot turret bar will be centered on the lawn serving up signature cocktails for purchase.
The Del is located at 1500 Orange Ave., and there will be on-site and valet parking.
