It can be hard to explain it with words, but there is a very special bond between a person and their horse. And there’s a new video that really drives this statement home.
On September 3, TikTok user Rhiann Stevens (@rhiandbea) shared a video of how her horse reacted when he realized there was something different about her. It’s truly beautiful–take a look!

In the 20-second video, Rhiann is on the camera and she has her shirt pulled up and showing off her bare midsection. Rhiann is pregnant and her sweet horse Saunders finally noticed there was something different with her.
“The big boy of the herd finally noticed I’m pregnant,” the text on the video reads.
In the clip, Rhiann stood with her bump exposed in the stable with the horses and waited right there. It didn’t take long for the beautiful horse to step into frame, walking slowly and very gently.
When the horse reaches to where Rhiann is standing, he gently places his nose on her belly, with his head as if he were giving the little baby in there a kiss. The video has been slowed down to be able to see the sweet head nuzzle, and it’s a very moving and magical moment.
In the comment section, people sung the praises of horses and their ability to really connect with people.
“Oh he knows,” one person wrote. “He’s like ‘we’ve got this mama.'”
“Horses cam sense heartbeats and sometimes synchronize with them,” another person shared.
“Now that, is beautiful!” wrote someone else.
“It’s a beautiful thing how they know that life is being created!” another person mentioned. “Such gentle creatures.”
“He’s telling he’s got you, and that baby,” added another TikTok viewer. “Oh we don’t deserve animas, but so thankful we have them.”
According to Joyful Equestrian, horses can sense when humans are pregnant.
“It’s very possible horses can sense when a woman is pregnant by smelling the change in pheromones and hormones,” the publication notes.
“Whether horses actively realize you are pregnant or are just reacting to the smells of pregnancy, it is hard to tell because we can’t talk with them and get a clear answer.”
