12 Saturday: Don’t miss the Summer Reading Finale at the Coronado Library Park.
It’s a 1990s-style Foam Party at 2 p.m.
Kids – don’t miss this awesome party, presented by FoamDiego. Wear your bathing suit, shorts or other comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting wet.
A “cannon” will shoot foam into the air for kids to play in. The foam is made from soap that is biodegradable, hypo-allergenic, and fragrance-free — however, swim goggles or similar eye protection are recommended especially for kids under 5.
The Library will have some goggles on hand but not enough for all attendees.

16 Wednesday: The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. p.m. in the library’s Winn Room.
Film expert Ralph DeLauro will provide a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.
This film is “Mandala” (Korean with English subtitles, 1981, 117 min).
This film asks profound questions about spirituality, the futility of existence and the
transcendence of the self in this tale of two monks with different ideas of enlightenment
who meet, part, argue and perhaps understand each other on their individual walks
towards Nirvana.
18 Friday: Tickets are still available for a luncheon with author Alice Hoffman as she discusses and signs her new book, “The Invisible Hour,” at noon in the Nautilus Room, located within the Coronado Community Center, 1845 Strand Way.
The luncheon is presented in partnership with Warwick’s bookstore.
This event is a fund-raiser for the Friends of the Coronado Public Library and a paid
ticket is required to enter. The ticket price of $50 includes lunch and a signed copy
of “The Invisible Hour.”
18 Friday: Senior Graham Bower, rated as one of San Diego County’s top players by the San Diego Union-Tribune, leads the Coronado High School football team against Montgomery at 7 p.m. at Niedermeyer Field.
