18 Friday – Are you ready for some football?
The Coronado Islanders football season kicks off at 7 p.m. at home against Montgomery.
The Islanders are coming off a playoff season and are looking to make a return run.
19 Saturday – The Friends of the Coronado Public Library are holding a Summer Book Sale on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the plaza in front of the Coronado Public Library.
Items for sale include a large selection of soft and hardcover books for children, teens and adults. Stop by and shop to refresh your summer reading books. All sale proceeds fund Library programs sponsored by the Friends of the Coronado Public Library.
All Month – Those who attended the Evening with Ret. Admiral William H. McRaven event on Aug. 3 and did not have a chance to have their books signed can request a signed bookplate from the admiral by contacting Ivy Weston, Programs Manager at the Library, at iweston@coronado.ca.us or by calling 619-522-2482.
Please let Weston know how many bookplates you need.
The admiral will be signing 100 bookplates and FedExing them to the Library at some point over the coming two weeks. These will be signed but not personalized. Because quantities are limited and the event had nearly 600 attendees, please do not request a bookplate if you were not in attendance at the event.
