Show your Coronado pride at the Fourth of July! Don’t forget to swing by our booth along the parade route or tag a photo for a chance to win an awesome prize! Check out the details below for more information.

Step 1

Start with a full newspaper sheet (two pages) in a landscape orientation (long edges at the top and bottom). Fold the paper in half vertically, bringing the left edge over to meet the right edge. Crease the fold well and then unfold.

Step 2

Fold the newspaper in half horizontally, bringing the top edge down to meet the bottom edge. Crease the fold well.

Step 3

Take the top left corner of the newspaper and fold it diagonally towards the center crease. The folded edge should align with the vertical crease. Crease the diagonal fold well. Repeat this step with the top right corner.

Step 4

Fold the bottom edge (uppermost layer of the newspaper only) up to the base of the triangles, about 1 inch from the bottom. Crease the fold well.

Step 5

Fold the bottom edge up again, this time aligning it over the bottom edge of the folded corners. Crease the fold well, and tear the outside corners, if necessary.

Step 6

Turn over paper, and repeat steps 4 and 5 to fold up the remaining newspaper layer from the bottom.

Step 7

Open out the paper folds to shape it around your head. The hat is now finished!
