14 Tuesday: The Coronado Public Library is hosting an ice cream making event for children on July 14 at 3 p.m.

15 Wednesday: Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. The featured film on July 15 is “The League of Gentlemen.”

17 Friday: Cynthia Mendolia, a National Board-certified health and wellness coach, will present and moderate a program honoring local centenarians. 18 Saturday: Low Tide Ride and Stride, an annual event hosted by the Coronado Rotary Club, is set for July 18 at 8 a.m. Participants can walk, run, or bike a 5K course on Coronado Beach, and 100% of the proceeds go to charities, with the majority supporting local military and first responders.
