Spring sports are in full swing, and it’s a packed week for Coronado athletics. Baseball, softball, boys’ lacrosse, boys’ tennis and track all compete this week.
23 Monday:
Varsity softball gets the week going for Coronado, with a game at West Hills. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m.
24 Tuesday:
CHS boys’ tennis is at San Diego High for a match. Games start at 4 p.m.
Islanders boys’ lacrosse is at home to play against Cathedral High. JV plays at 5, varsity at 7 p.m.
25 Wednesday:
The CHS baseball teams play against Granite Hills High. Varsity is on the road, JV is at home. Both games start at 3 p.m.
26 Thursday:
Islanders baseball plays its second game in as many days, this time against Scripps Ranch. Varsity is at home, while JV is on the road. First pitch is at 3 p.m. for both games.
Boys’ tennis is on the road for the second time this week, this time at Patrick Henry. Matches start at 4 p.m.
CHS boys’ lacrosse plays its second home game of the week. They’re facing La Costa Canyon, with games starting at 5 and 7 p.m.
27 Friday:
Girls’ lacrosse plays its first game of the season at home against Foothill. JV plays at 5:30, and varsity soon after at 7 p.m.
28 Saturday:
The CHS track and field team has its first meet of the season, at the Elmer Runge Invitational. The meet is at University City High School, starting at 8 p.m.
Varsity softball will be at Kit Carson Park in Escondido for the Cougar Classic softball tournament. The first game is against Ramona High at 7 p.m.
Boys’ lacrosse is at home for a game against Bishop Manogue, starting at 4 p.m.
