7 Saturday: A one-day “Arts in the Military” exhibit will be featured at the Coronado Public Library on Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The exhibit features artwork created by sailors stationed on bases in Coronado and attendees can enjoy light refreshments and meet the artists.
9 Monday: The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with Warwick’s Bookstore presents Paula McLain, New York Times bestselling author of “The Paris Wife,” “Circling the Sun,” and “Love and Ruin.” McLain will discuss and sign her new novel, “Skylark.”
A mesmerizing tale of Paris above and below, where a woman’s pursuit of artistic freedom in 1664 intertwines with a doctor’s dangerous mission during the German occupation of the 1940s, it’s a story of courage and resistance. Free open seating is first-come, first-served, subject to availability. A book signing will follow the event.
10 Tuesday: A workshop is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 for participants to learn the art of storytelling. Hosted by the Storytellers of San Diego at the Coronado Public Library, this workshop is the second in a five-session series focusing on practical techniques for making a story your own. This session is a walk-in class, no registration needed. Participants will have the chance to showcase their new skills at the San Diego Storytelling Festival on March 21.
14 Saturday: The Coronado Ferry Landing is slated to host a Valentine’s Day event. Community members can stop by the Female Maker Market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to shop vendor options.
