The Coronado Police Department released a weather advisory at 7:35 this morning in response to forecasted rain.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions by avoiding known flood-prone areas and allowing extra travel time.

The department reported localized flooding is anticipated in two areas: 1st Street and A Avenue, and the Five Points intersection.

Free sandbags are available on a first-come, first-served basis at Bandel Park and in the Coronado Cays.

The Coronado Police Department also reported the intersection of 4th Street and Orange Avenue is shut down due to a sinkhole.
