Two Navy aircraft crashed in the South China Sea on Oct. 26.

The first aircraft, a U.S. Navy MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, was conducting routine operations from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz when it went down in the waters, according to a U.S. Pacific Fleet spokesperson. It was assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 73.

Around a half-an-hour later, an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet also crashed in the South China Sea while conducting routine operations. The jet was assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 22.

Both aircraft were flying off the USS Nimitz.

A search and rescue team was able to safely recover all crew members from both crashes.

A U.S. Pacific Fleet spokesperson confirmed that all personnel involved are safe and in stable condition and that the cause of both incidents is currently under investigation.
