As the Marine Corps celebrates 250 years, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar brought new performances and demonstrations over a three-day air show event at the end of September.

The Silent Drill Platoon, consisting of 24 hand-selected infantry Marines, highlighted their rigorous training with five performances, making this the first year ever that they performed on the steady grounds of MCAS Miramar’s flight line.

“It was an honor for our Marines to bring the Silent Drill Platoon’s legacy of precision and discipline to Miramar for the first time,” said Capt. Ford Higgins, the platoon commander for the Silent Drill Platoon, Alpha Company. “Performing on the flight line during such a historic year for our Corps made this experience especially meaningful.”
