An almost 12,000-square-foot waterfront mansion, named “3 The Point,” was sold over the weekend for over $24 million.

The iconic, curved, modern dwelling in the Coronado Cays was purchased during Concierge Auctions’ annual Hong Kong sale, a competitive auction that saw nine bidders from all over the world vying for the residence.

Concierge Auctions said they were unable to release information on the buyer.

The home was listed with Coldwell Banker West, a real estate brokerage firm based in San Diego. When escrow closes, the transaction will represent the highest price ever paid for a property in the Cays, and the second highest overall in Coronado, according to a release from Concierge Auctions.

The most expensive home to be sold in Coronado’s history was a 14,054-square-foot property purchased in February of 2024 for $28 million.

Bidding for “3 The Point” opened on Sept. 5 and culminated live at The Upper House in Hong Kong.

The property had been on the market for just under two years before the sellers decided to go to auction with Concierge Auctions after 677 days, selling the home 52 days after that.

According to Concierge Auctions’ 2025 luxury homes index, an annual report examining key luxury residential markets nationally, the average amount of time a luxury home was on the market in 2024 was 319 days.

The seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate is located on the water with over 320 feet of private bay footage and two docks. Its floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the entire bay, the Coronado Bridge and the San Diego skyline. Every bedroom has a private balcony and on top of the mansion sits a 3,600-square-foot deck with a pool and putting green.

“‘3 The Point’ is the very pinnacle of waterfront living, so its sale required the proper visibility to match its value,” said Ericca Woodruff from Coldwell Banker Associated Brokers Realty.

“With its combination of privacy, innovation, beauty, and direct access to nature, this estate exemplifies what our international clientele is seeking,” said Bob Buttaro, vice president of business development at Concierge Auctions. “Alongside Coldwell Banker, we leveraged our global platform to deliver speed and certainty in the sale.”
