The list of things smarty-pants Parrots can learn shouldn’t surprise me, and yet I remain shocked, flabbergasted, in awe, and honestly a little jealous at how effortlessly cool these birds are. How’d they get so lucky in the genes department while I’m over here trying not to trip over myself (while standing still, even)?

Bailey is my new Parrot super-guru because this little lady can do it all. Talking is easy as pie, but so is cruising around the house on her disco-lit scooter. I’ve never been more jealous of a bird in all my life, and you’ll see why.

When @anthonymatthew24 captioned the post: “This will make you smile, believe me,” he wasn’t kidding around! We get 22 seconds of an excited Bailey shouting while riding a scooter with dazzling, colorful lights, and it was the exact thing I needed to jumpstart my day with a sprinkle of positivity (OK, maybe more of a hefty dollop!).

Parrots are genius-level smart, easily mimicking words and phrases—sometimes hilarious or expletive things you’d rather they not say! Bailey is making me look bad for never finishing my Duolingo course. Meanwhile, she’s out here riding vehicles and talking up a storm!

Clearly, Bailey is better than me in almost every way, and I’m not mad about it. She’s awesome! Many others who stumbled on the now-viral video feel the same way, with some going so far as to say Bailey speaks better English than them!

As one person put it, she’s a “Disco queen embodied,” but she’s so much more than that. Scooting around is one of her many talents, but it’s that vocabulary—and her spot-on “oh my gawd”—that has everyone roaring with laughter!

About double yellow-headed parrots

Bailey is a double yellow-headed parrot, and these birds are considered the life of the party, which you can see! These feathered friends aren’t even close to shy, leaning into their talkative, loud, boisterous natures—some of them even shrill!

These charming (sometimes moody) parrots make great companions in homes with people who can handle their intense needs, because they can live upward of 80 years in captivity. For the one human they bond with most, you can bet they’ll provide hours of loud and endless entertainment.

Buy them a disco-lit scooter, and maybe they’ll be as cool as Bailey!
