Everyone has a habit they’d like to break, or at least cut down on. Whether it’s biting your nails, having too much sugar, or cracking your knuckles, we all do things that satisfy indulgences and self-soothe.

Our canine companions struggle with this as well. From chewing on furniture to stealing snacks, our fur babies have their own fixations to manage. Sonny the Golden Retriever clearly has a penchant for a certain article of clothing, and he doesn’t seem in any hurry to work on his overpowering habit.

In the TikTok from @golden.boy.sonny, the playful pup was in the bedroom passing over toys in favor of several different socks. The gorgeous Golden kept himself quite entertained.

“They call me a sockaholic, whatever that means. Now someone just give me a sock and no one gets hurt,” the onscreen text read as we see Sonny go from sock to sock… to sock.

Followers offered the canine cutie support, pointing out how tough it can be to curtail a craving.

“There are much worse things to be addicted to,” one remarked.

“Mine likes to eat socks,” another shared.

“Literally same, WHO doesn’t love a good sock?!” a fan posted.

Perhaps Sonny’s soft spot for socks is genetic. Golden Retrievers are known to be “mouthy“, meaning they love carrying things around whether it’s a stick, toy, plushy, or clothing. As natural born retrievers, this breed is quite active and enjoys playing and fetching, which includes using their mouths. Fortunately, Goldens have soft mouths, so it’s pretty certain that no socks were damaged during Sonny’s love affair with the laundry.

Though any kind of compulsion isn’t ideal, Sonny’s captivation with this item of clothing seems harmless.
