Domesticated Cockatoos can live up to 70 years old
Aside from being one of the coolest species around, birds like Furby continue to impress with how much they comprehend. PetMD notes that, though Cockatoos live 20-40 years in the wild, it’s almost double that when domesticated. Likewise, when foraging in the wild, they stay in flocks of 100 other birds or more, which adds to the point that they need community, whether it’s with other birds or their human family.
Of the more than 20 Cockatoo varieties, the social Sulphur Crested and Moluccan Parrots are typically very vocal and have loads of personality. Many of the web’s popular Cockatoos are among these two, which makes sense. They love a good spotlight where they can show off how smart they really are.
