The Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Historical Association, will host Coronado author Taylor Baldwin Kiland, who will be talking about her new book, “Murder of the Jujube Candy Heiress: A Coronado Cold Case,” on March 13 at 5:30 p.m.

The book dives into a Coronado cold case — the murder of retired librarian Ruth Quinn in 1975. Quinn was murdered, execution-style, in her cottage. Her death sent a shock wave through the community.

The granddaughter of Jujubes and Jujyfruits creator Henry Heide, Quinn was found fully clothed with her shoes on, in her bed, dead from two gunshot wounds. To this day, her murder has never been solved.

Light refreshments will be served and a book-signing will follow the author event, which is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability. Limited preferred seating is offered with the pre-order purchase of “Murderer of the Jujube Candy Heiress: A Coronado Cold Case” through the Coronado Historical Association’s website.
