If there’s anything better than one Bernese Mountain Dog, it’s hundreds of them all in one place. Breckenridge, Colorado took this idea and ran with it, hosting an annual parade called “Berner Fest,” and the guests of honor are, you guessed it, Bernese Mountain Dogs galore!
This yearly event is everything a dog-lover’s dreams are made of. Watch as all the happy “Berners” socialize and make new friends from all over the country as the stars of the parade.

As you can see in the December 8 clip shared by @rosienoir91, this is a literal dream. Some of the pups are dressed in holiday costumes while others come as is, but all of them are perfect in every way. Big and small, young and old, this is one event I can get behind!
“When I say this my dream, this is what I mean,” one person joked, while others declared this looks like “Heaven” and even more marking their calendars for next year’s event, if only to see so many Bernese Mountain Dogs in one place!
All about the Bernese Mountain Dog Annual Parade
According to GoBreck.com, the official “Lighting of Breckenridge” brings people from all over to commemorate the holiday season and though they have a “Race of the Santas,” the biggest highlight is Holiday Dog Parade where Bernese Mountain Dogs come together.
The Holiday Dog Parade showcases Berners and their pet parents as they lead the procession. Their route takes them around historic Main Street (about a half-mile) where the dazzling lights and festive decor are abundant, but the pups are what make it something special. Hundreds or Berners take to the streets to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!
The site describes the post-Santa race scene as a transformation of the town “into a real life holiday card, thanks to more than 59,000 feet (or 11.2 miles!) and 250,000 dazzling LED lights.” The lights in downtown Breckenridge are said to be a highly photogenic spot for enthusiasts and they stay up all winter long, but it’s really the dogs that are the highlight of the whole day.
The most recent event took place the first weekend of December, and if you’re planning to attend next year, it’ll happen on December 6, 2025. Holiday Dog Parade and Race of the Santas Aside, other events during the event include the Children’s Moose March, a Countdown to the tree lighting with Santa, and Holiday carolers.
