Cats come into our lives in all kinds of ways. Some of us know exactly what breed we want to adopt and seek out a breeder who is able to help us. Others will turn to shelters to find their kitties — I have found two adorable kittens who have grown into excellent cats from my local animal control office myself. And then, there are those who are presented with a cat by the Cat Distribution System (you’ll know that’s you when you find a stray cat and feel that pull to take them in).

After watching the TikTok video below, it’s clear that the Cat Distribution System has struck again… and this time, it seems to have made a perfect match that has people super invested.

New cat mom @schmaniels shared a sweet video of the tiny orange kitten she found in the street on Sunday morning. In the first video that she posted, you can see just how hesitant he was to come near her at first, but before long, he was meowing at her and allowing her to pet him. What a sweetie!

We can see that he’s barely bigger than her hand, so he must have been pretty young and in need of the help. Fortunately, she seemed happy to provide it, and commenters were so glad that she was there.

“It looked like that poor baby was startled by a kind touch. Thank you for rescuing,” one person wrote.

So what’s the latest on this kitty cat — who has now been named Felix Quesadilla — in the days since he was rescued?

The story of Felix Quesadilla the cat

Thankfully, Felix’s new mom, whose name is Amanda, was quick to update everyone following along with her new kitty’s story just three days into their time together.

“I was visiting a friend in Indianapolis Saturday night. When I was leaving my hotel Sunday morning to head back home to Chicago, I saw this lil guy in the middle of the road,” she wrote.

He was at a construction site and it was freezing cold outside, so it seems like it was a no brainer for her to grab him and bring him to safety. He seemed to take to her right away, even sitting on her lap the entire three hour drive home!

After giving him kitten food and a flea bath, he finally opened his other eye, and he looks much happier — he even made biscuits for the first time, which is such a promising sign.

I can’t wait for the next update. Felix is in great hands!
