Being a foster parent to a dog who really needs one is such a beautiful thing to do, and that’s even more true when it comes to older, senior dogs. While younger dogs typically get snatched up from shelters and rescues very quickly (especially the puppies), it takes longer for more elderly dogs to find their homes… and some, heartbreakingly enough, never do. It can be a lot for someone to take on the medical needs these older dogs often have — not to mention the fact that they don’t get to spend nearly enough of their lives with their new BFF — but unfortunately, senior dogs are usually the ones who are the least comfortable in shelter environments.
One foster mom who has stepped up to be there for one (very cute) senior Chihuahua mix is sharing their journey on TikTok, and this time, she’s showing us the sweet way she asks for more cuddles.

Foster mom Isabel Klee has been taking dogs in for a long time, but her latest foster might be one of her most special. She’s an older Chihuahua mix pup named Pluto, and after seeing this video that Isabel shared on Sunday, November 17, I’m pretty sure it would be impossible not to fall in love with her.
As we can see in this footage, Isabel knows that Pluto is ready for more cuddles when she gently paws at her hand, and of course, she has to oblige — with a polite request like that, how could anyone say no?
“Quitting my job so I can pet Pluto all day,” Isabel wrote in her caption. Obviously. What other choice does she have?
I have a feeling this little lady is extra thankful for all those pets she’s getting these days, too.
Pluto’s story so far
Isabel only took Pluto in last week, but she’s been sharing plenty of updates on her so far, and it didn’t take long for her followers to be just as head over heels for this dog as she is.
As her foster mom explained in a video, Pluto found herself without a home after her human passed away, but according to Isabel, this dog must have been very loved by that person, because she has been so open and welcoming to affection now.
And while they are still searching for Pluto’s forever home, it’s clear that she has been so wanted and loved by her foster family in the meantime. You can see it in the excitement Isabel had right before picking her up, and in how sweet she is to her now that she’s all settled in.
Pluto has been through a lot (and has been suffering from pancreatitis and dental problems) but now, it seems like she’s finally getting to relax. She deserves it!
