Skateboarding is a sport that many of us have tried at least once (likely in our younger years), even if we weren’t very good at it. There are legends out there like Tony Hawk who are incredibly good at skating and go pro, but if you’ve ever watched any kind of skateboarding competition, you already know that it takes a lot of skill to get that far. And imagining how tough it must be to make it to the Olympics? Yeah, that’s next level skill and talent.

There’s one individual out there who knows what it takes perhaps better than anyone else — a bulldog who has become famous for his skateboarding skills, against all odds. So it’s no wonder he’d be totally captivated by watching Olympians do their thing now that the 2024 games in Paris are finally here.

@chowderthebulldogChowder was completely mesmerized by the skateboarding finals! He has the heart and soul of a true skater. Amazing skating todsy! Congrats to all of the athletes!! #ParisOlympics #Olympics #paris #skateboarding #skater #skate

In this TikTok video from @chowderthebulldog, the skateboarding Bulldog pup himself, Chowder, can be seen parked in front of the TV and completely mesmerized by the Olympic skate finals that are playing out on the TV in front of him.

I do have to wonder if Chowder’s wondering if he can pull off moves like that and make it to the Olympics four years from now. I know I wouldn’t be the only one tuning in to see him!

Commenters talked about what a great addition he’d make to the next games, with one person writing, “Chowder would do great as a participant/coach! His enthusiasm and dedication to his specialty would be inspiring!”

Besides, most of us humans have been busy keeping up with the Olympics all week long, so why wouldn’t a dog be interested in watching, too?

All about Chowder and his mad skills

Just in case you aren’t among the nearly two million followers who Chowder dazzles regularly with his skills, here’s what you need to know about this very talented pup.

Chowder lives with his family in Washington state, and he is nearly seven years old. As his mom, Jani Delperdang, told Rover, even as soon as they adopted him at eight weeks old, they knew there was something “different” about this dog.

He loved to be active, but they were having trouble finding activities to do… until one day, he was at the beach in Oregon, saw a kid on a skim board, and hopped on. He had officially found his new favorite hobby.

“He loves hills and he loves speed,” Chowder’s mom said. “We have to be careful of that though. We don’t let him ride anything too fast. You learn you can’t take your eye off away for even a minute.”

He loves it so much that it’s not always easy to separate him from his skateboard. Now that’s passion!

Chowder’s a pretty cool dog… and a talented one at that. He most certainly belongs at the next Olympics!
