During discussion of future agenda items at the May 16 school board meeting, district officials shared plans to develop and roll out an information document for the community to review regarding the district’s budget. 

In other matters:

  • The board approved district plans for student achievement at each of the school sites.
  • In a spotlight presentation, the board recognized Arden Gillberg as the district classified employee of the year, and Liz Josset, Lani Shanefelt, Frankie Guillen and Jorge Mejia as classified employees of the year. 
  • Board members presented student representative Wyatt Riebe with a gift following his year-long role before graduation in June. He plans to attend Vanderbilt University.
  • The CHS band, which received a Unanimous Superior Rating, at the California Music Educators Association Band and Orchestra Festival earlier this year, filled the board room with a harmonious performance at the start of the meeting.

The next regular board meeting is set for 4 p.m. on June 6 at the District Office.
