As part of an effort to clean up and reduce waste in the Coronado area, the city will be hosting a bulky waste pickup service from May 13-17.

Residents are being asked to place bulky items, such as furniture, mattresses (wrapped with special mattress disposal bags), broken appliances, water heaters and other miscellaneous items on the curb, alongside their regular collection carts, on their normal collection day. As part of the initiative, the city will also be offering free mulch for residents to self-load or self-haul.

During the event, household hazardous waste will not be collected.

The mulch will be available for pickup at the following locations: the corner of A Avenue and 2nd Street, behind the Little League field; and the Cays Park parking lot at 99 Grand Caribe Isle. The city advises residents to bring a shovel to collect mulch, and to place the mulch in self-load bins or open trucks that are equipped with tarps to prevent spillage.

For more information regarding a second pick up service scheduled for Oct 14-18, visit the EDCO website.
