While I automatically assume that I am my dog’s best friend (I will not accept any other realities), it is really cute to see her hanging out with other dogs. I’ve had the joy of watching her play with my friends’ dogs and get that very necessary socialization in, and it’s the kind of happiness that no pup out there should never be deprived of. And some dogs out there truly do end up forming best friendships with other dogs — it’s the sweetest thing ever. And sometimes, even just the idea of being able to see their bestie is enough to get them super excited.
The dog featured in this TikTok is the perfect example of that level of excitement. As soon as he hears his best doggy friend’s name, he’s all ears — and ready to hit the ground running.
@blues_pawdcastOur frenchie loves his best friend the corgi georgie 😂 #frenchie #cute #frenchbulldog #happydog #dogdad #dogmom #frenchiesoftiktok #animals
This crazy cute footage was shared by @blues_pawdcast on TikTok, showing what happens when a French Bulldog named Mr. Blue hears that a playdate is in his near future with his BFF, a Corgi named Georgie.
Blue’s just chilling on the couch, but the second he hears his mom ask, “you wanna go to Georgie’s today?” he snaps to attention.
“We’re gonna go see Gram, and we’re gonna see Georgie, and we’re gonna go for a roast beef dinner,” she continues. She even adds that she’s going to let him have some mashed potatoes, so this really seems to be shaping up to be a great day for this pup!
My only regret is that they didn’t share a video of Georgie and Blue reuniting, but maybe that’s coming in the future? I’ve gotta see these two together (and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way after seeing how excited Blue got!).
How dogs bond with other dogs
Not only is it possible for dogs to have both human and dog best friends, but dogs can actually create some pretty cool bonds with each other.
According to Psychology Today, dogs who have been domesticated and properly socialized will show friendliness to almost any creature and assume that they can be pals until they are shown otherwise — if only humans took that attitude towards other people!
They are also capable of forming lifelong bonds with each other and can even comfort each other during tough times. So don’t knock those friends your dog makes with the other pups in the neighborhood;Â those friendships are just as real as the ones we humans have with each other.
Here’s hoping that there are plenty more playdates in Blue and Georgie’s future. Who could break a bond that tight (and adorable)?
