Police dogs and their human partners work hard each day. They put their lives at risk to keep us safe. That’s why they need to carve out a few moments to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
This gorgeous dog has a handler who makes sure he’s living his very best life. Watch them enjoy their fall snack in a video shared on November 3:
This is one of my favorite accounts to follow. Instagram user @deputy_dog_radar always picks some terrific treats to share with his canine partner Radar. Today’s snack came after visiting with students at an elementary school, and it was a big slice of pumpkin pie. Not too shabby!

This boy knows a good thing when he sees it. As soon as the window opens to let him upfront, he licks the air. He displayed such great manners around the kids; he got the first taste. He’s even perfected the art of eating off a fork. They take turns with bites, and he waits eagerly for each one. His human seems to enjoy this snack just as much.
This delightful slice of fall goodness also received an excellent rating. The overall score was a 7/10. Although the human and doggo excitement was high, it lost a few points for being messy and drooly. It also scored poorly on the crunchy scale. However, with pumpkin pie, it’s best to not be crunchy.
These snacking partners entertained the audience. Viewer @valerie.christy reacted, “If you would have told me 20 years ago I’d be watching a video of a doggo eating snacks on my phone, I’d have called you crazy. What a time to be alive!” That is true. Viewer @absolutahnie responded, “I love the sharing of the fork. I do the same with my dog but never a human (including my husband).” This is a sentiment many dog owners understand.
Except for bananas, radar seems to enjoy most of his afternoon snacks. These hard-working law enforcement officers deserve all the treats they can eat.
