The Second Annual 4th of July Home Front Decorating Contest is underway, and The Coronado Fourth of July is calling all Coronado residents to show their patriotic spirit and participate.
Residents are encouraged to express their creativity by decking out their homes in red, white and, of course, blue.
Promoting the beautification of homes in Coronado, The Coronado Fourth of July partnered with the Coronado Flower show for this year’s competition.
Residents and visitors alike will be able to reap the benefits of enjoying the decor.
Judging rules

A panel led by Coronado Floral Association 2023 Home Front judging co-chairs Kelly Kindorf and Lori P. Smith will judge houses based on their creativity, adherence to the storyline and theme, overall presentation, and appearance of (at least) one American flag and three additional patriotic elements.
This year’s theme is titled “An American Pageant,” and the winner will receive 10 covered-seating parade grandstand tickets, along with a feature at the parade.
Patriotism, splendor and pageantry
Smith said the theme was set to highlight patriotism, splendor and pageantry of all things Americana.
I can think of no better place to be on the 4th of July.”

All participants agree to have a photo of their home on the CFOJ website.

In addition to the 10 grandstand tickets, the winner will be announced on the CFOJ website, social media, press releases, and at the parade.
