Christ Church Day School is gearing up for the return of its annual gala fundraiser – a first since 2019.

Jaelyn Frey, chair of development at Christ Church Day School said she’s excited for parishioners, friends, family, faculty, staff, and community members who wants to support the school to attend.

In efforts to keep tuition low, the gala helps the school raise money so more families can join the school.

The gala helps bridge the gap between the actual tuition of the school and the expenses of the school.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at  e.givesmart.com/events/tsx/, and the event will be at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa on  April 22.

Frey, who also is in charge of fundraising efforts, started in August planning for the event and developed a development committee with Joanie Huck, who is the president of the school board, as well as Lauren Thrasher and Faith Bravo.

These women have put in a lot of work to put this event on and make it the best it can be alongside parents from the school, Frey said.

The gala is a “Casino Royale” James Bond themed event with formal dress attire with black tie optional.

The event will have live music, a casino,, dancing, and a sit down dinner.

Guests also can participate in silent and live auctions.

Chapel twice a week

At Christ Church Day School, students attend chapel twice a week and the director of the church does spiritual nurturing with the kids.

The school enrolls students from “junior kindergarten” to  sixth grade.

“The magnitude in which we have created  is the coolest part. It started as an idea and goal and now it has become a huge event that will blow people’s socks off” said Frey.
