Tickets for the first ever NASCAR race on a military base will be going on sale in just about two weeks. The race will be held at Naval Air Station North Island on Coronado in June of 2026 to celebrate the country and U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday.

The race will feature all three of NASCAR’s national events: the Craftsman Truck Series race on June 19, the Xfinity Series race on June 20 and the Cup Series race on June 21.

The Craftsman Truck Series is an entry-level race with drivers competing in modified pickup trucks. The Xfinity Series is the second tier of NASCAR racing and serves as a feeder into the Cup Series. The Cup Series is the most advanced race, with the best drivers in the sport vying in stock cars.

“NASCAR is committed to supporting Navy morale and recruitment,” said Amy Lupo, the president of NASCAR San Diego, at the Sept. 16 Coronado City Council meeting. In addition to the race, she said, activities will include a Navy community day on June 19 for Navy personnel and Coronado residents.

Lupo said the organization is working on the venue layout, developing transportation plans in partnership with the Navy, the city and the California Department of Transportation.

Pre-sale tickets can be found at nascarsandiego.com.
