If dogs could talk, I’d bet they’ve been holding a lot of good gossip they can’t wait to spill. Likewise, if they could use those words to sing along with their favorite songs, even better. In the meantime, there are some hits they can’t help but belt out any way possible—and some of them hit those high notes like it’s their job!

Enter Charlie, a Gwen Stefani-obsessed mixed dog who not only sings along to one of the pop star’s biggest songs, but his pitch and key are more on point than some of the most successful artists out there. Have a listen and you tell me who the real star is (volume way up)!

This little dog is clearly singing the song of his people, and he’s giving it his whole soul! Though Charlie may not have loved that Mom came in swinging to join in (it was his moment!), the impromptu duet is nothing short of Billboard Top 100 material.

Call it howling if you must, but this is art, and Charlie takes his art seriously. It’s only howling if you don’t have an ear for these things. This pup is a “pawfessional” who plans to take over the airwaves soon, so get on the bandwagon now before he’s too big of a star to remember you!

As the songbird of our century, Charlie gained a mess of new fans with his emotional vocal rendition, and thousands locked in to say as much.

“He low-key hit that first note,” one adoring pop fan—the official account for Pringles!—praised. “That’s his jam!!! Had the first wehoooo down to a T!” another chimed in to support Charlie’s big city dreams.

Others noted that he’s “too real for that,” and asked if he does weddings. There’s no official word yet, but I’ll have Charlie’s agent call your agent. He does take requests with a little hype, but sometimes his Chihuahua sibling, who’s had enough, nips that in the bud real quick!

Why dogs love to ‘sing’

Have you noticed that dogs will howl at a lot of loud noises, like music or sirens? The reasons have more to do with their ancestral instincts than actually trying to “sing” along.

Though the howling can be something they learn when excited, for attention, or when uncomfortable, it’s also their fundamental response to high-pitched or loud notes to communicate with other dogs (or wolves in the wild).

So really, Charlie’s singing is his way of telling Gwen Stefani he’d like to meet up to cowrite a new song together. As a fan of both, yes, please.
