As the 2025 track and field season has continued to progress, the Coronado High School Girls relay team has continued to shine. At the UC Classic Invitational held at University City High School, the CHS girls’ relay team set the school record in the 4 x 100 with a time of 48.13 seconds.

The team – consisting of junior Micaela Gistaro, senior Lauren Gilhooly, sophomore Maya Wilson, and junior Summer Little – now holds the third fastest time in the San Diego CIF section, and the 17th fastest time in the state of California.

Gilhooly won both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dashes with times of 11.7 seconds and 24.13 seconds, respectively. She ranks first in the San Diego section for both events, and her 200-meter time is seventh in California.

The boys’ team also saw success, with freshman Ah’man Oliver winning the 200-meter dash and placing runner up in the 100-meter dash. Oliver ranks in the top 10 among San Diego freshmen in both events.

Sophomore transfer Emiliano Marquez won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.20, which was good for a personal best. Marquez also placed second in the 200-meter hurdles, placing him top eight among San Diego sophomores.

Junior Davin Collins posted a PR as well, finishing with a time of 11.2 seconds in the open men’s 100-meter dash.

Just one week later, at the April 10 league meet, Collins again emerged as a top performer. He won both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, setting a PR in the 100-meter (11.16 seconds) and leading the central league in both events.

The boys’ relay team shined as well, winning all three relays they competed in. The 4 x 400 team ranks No. 1 in the Central League and No. 3 in CIF Division 3, while the 4×800 team is ranked No. 2 in league and No. 9 in CIF Division 3.

Reif Souder made his presence known at the league meet too, winning the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, now currently ranking No. 1 in the central league for 110-meter and No. 2 for 300-meter.

Coronado  traveled to Arcadia High School on April 11 and 12 to compete in the Arcadia Invitational.

Sophomore Maya Wilson, junior Summer Little, Gilhooly, and Gistaro competed in the 800-meter sprint medley relay and  posted one of the fastest times in Coronado history for that event, finishing sixth overall with a season best time of 1:48.62.
