Halloween is in full swing on the island, with events like Village Elementary School’s “Harvest Hoedown” on Oct. 18, Halloween Happenings at Spreckels Park on Oct. 25 and a spooky-filled month at the Hotel del Coronado.

Harvest Hoedown

Halloween Happenings

Hotel del Coronado events

The Hotel del Coronado will be hosting Halloween events up until Nov. 2.

Available nightly up until Oct. 31, the Hotel del Fire pits are open for reservation for a “Ghost Roast.” Gather with friends for a spooky night under the stars and roast s’mores with an added supernatural flare, thanks to a paranormal visit from Kate Morgan, the resident ghost, and the source of folklore surrounding the Hotel’s haunted past.

For those looking to get into the spooky spirit with holiday classics, Movies on the Beach will showcasing Halloween movies along North Beach under the stars. On Oct. 26, Hocus Pocus will be playing, followed by Coco on Nov. 2. Reservations in advance are required.

From Oct. 25-27, as well as Oct. 30, there will be oceanfront Halloween pumpkin carving offered at The Del’s Founders Lawn. Family and friends can choose their pumpkin from the beachfront pumpkin patch, and utilize a variety of supplies to create their own masterpiece.

For the more daring, there will be a Haunted Happenings Tour offered nightly where the tale of Kate Morgan’s infamous 1892 visit to The Del will be told. Discover why her spirit never checked-out as the guided tour will walk in her footsteps and uncover the mystery of her death.
