There are many reasons to get a large-breed dog. They make the perfect snuggle buddy on a chilly day, giving off plenty of heat to stay warm. Their bigger size also helps to protect us at home or when walking alone on the street.
Unfortunately, this also means they don’t stay small for long, making the already brief puppy phase feel even shorter. But, with each gained pound, they get even more adorable and even eaiser to love, which is undoubtedly true for this charming Bernese Mountain puppy.
See how he’s growing up fast in this video shared on October 7:

Although most puppies are not hard to hold at only a few months old, Bernoulli (@bunsenberner.bmd) certainly is! This handsome guy might be growing larger, but his cuteness hasn’t changed a bit. There is something about this fluffy pup that I find so charming! His soulful eyes and playful personality only add to his good looks. Seeing how much bigger he gets each week is incredible, especially from weeks 20 to 21. My goodness, it looks like he grew 6 inches! At 27 weeks and a whopping 61 pounds, he is almost as tall as his father. If he keeps growing at this rate, it will be challenging for Dad to hold him much longer! It’s safe to assume they won’t play this growth chart game when he’s celebrating his first birthday.

How big do Bernese Mountain dogs get?
Male Bernese Mountain Dogs ordinarily weigh between 80 and 115 pounds and stand about 25 to 27.5 inches tall at the shoulder, while females are smaller, weighing between 70 and 95 pounds. Like other giant breeds, they can take three years to reach full size and mental maturity. While they might be known for their size, they are adored for their gentle temperaments. Despite their impressive stature, which helped them pull carts and herd livestock in the Swiss Alps, BMDs are known for being friendly, affectionate, and great family pets.
People were in awe of Bernoulli’s growth. Viewer @jujy_cakes pointed out, “You’re going to be on the sofa holding Bernoulli next time!” It won’t be long before that’s necessary. Another person responded, “He is entering the awkward teenager phase. Dad, stop picking me up. You‘re embarrassing me.” All kids go through it. Viewer @puzzlehead remarked, “Berner puppy phase goes by way too fast!” It goes much too quickly, no matter which breed it is.
Hopefully, this puppy’s growth will slow down a little now. But even if his dad can’t lift him for his next weigh-in, he’ll be just as precious to see sitting on his lap instead.
