Five Below: not everything is $5 and below, but everything is exceptionally cute. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you go in there for. you will spend more money than you intended, and odds are, you’ll leave with at least three things you absolutely do not need.
The pet section is where it gets really dangerous, especially if you have absolutely zero self control. Their toys are unmatched, their pet beds are cute, and according to this TikTok from Tuesday, May 28th, they have teeny-tiny cat hats that seriously make life worth living:
@exploreharlingenFound these ridiculous #cat hats at @Five Below today. Cindy Clawford models the #sunflower hat (she’s a model, after all). #exploreharlingen #funnycats #catsoftiktok
I don’t even have a cat, but @exploreharlingen makes me want these. I wonder if they could fit on my girl dog… or my guinea pigs, maybe?

According to Lisa, the person behind the account, she found these at the Five Below store in Harlingen, TX. There are several different hats to choose from, and her cat, Cindy Clawford, was kind enough to model the sunflower one for us. Availability will vary by store, but if you find them, you’ll be able to snag them for $5.55 plus tax!
It looks like these are pretty standard cat hats: they don’t velcro on or anything, it’s just an opening that you stick their face into. Cindy Clawford has a pretty standard-sized head, but if your kitty’s noggin is any bigger than hers, you might have a tough time getting it on. However, these hats do seem big enough to put on puppies and small dogs. That’s a win!
Do cats like wearing hats?
Miss Cindy Clawford doesn’t look particularly happy about her new accessory, but she’s not rebelling against it. The same is usually true for most cats: they don’t love wearing clothes, but they won’t claw your eyes out over it, either. Some even love clothes, since sweaters help keep body heat in and cats are all about being warm!
Hats can be a different story, and it mostly depends on where the hat sits. If it’s restricting the cat’s ears in any way, they’re most likely going to want to get it off of them as soon as they can. Cats’ ears are one of the most sensitive parts of their body, and one of the most important. Putting something over their ears will muffle sound, which they don’t like, and it could throw them off-balance. To combat this, you could try:
- Putting the cat hat on and tucking it behind their ears.
- Putting it on and leaving it in front of their ears (this is not ideal, but will work).
- Cutting little ear holes in the hat.
Whatever you do, try your best to avoid pulling, pushing, or smushing your cat’s ears with the hat. As always, reward them with praise and treats for being agreeable, and if they really hate it, just take it off. Good job setting an example, Cindy Clawford!
