On Friday, January 5, a police officer and her K9 companion named Creed made an appeal to Taylor Swift, and it’s gathering quite a bit of traction. In the video, this duo says that this is the last year before Creed retires, and to go out with a bang, he wants to attend a Taylor Swift concert.

This very good boy pleads his case by proving he can even work during the show as a member of the security team. Creed makes a convincing argument!

Oh my goodness, Creed is one impressive pup! He and his handler showed off a number of tasks and tricks that Creed can perform to be useful during the concert, including chasing and tackling intruders and finding lost equipment for the musicians. He even knows how to go incognito!

Creed would make a stunning and indispensable member of Ms. Swift’s security team. She might prefer cats, but the superstar should take a chance on Creed!

K9 police dogs do very important jobs

While Creed still seems like he has plenty of gas left in the tank, this pup is approaching his retirement. Not only does the grey on his face reveal he might be a bit older than his energy conveys, but police dogs also perform challenging and important jobs, so they need to be at the top of their game.

One of the tasks K9 police dogs are trained for is suspect apprehension. Dogs who perform jobs related to this are trained to bite and catch suspects until humans arrive to put handcuffs on the person. This can be a dangerous line of work as the suspects these dogs are going up against are sometimes violent offenders. It’s often herding dogs like Creed who take the apprehension routine in K9 training because of their physical strength, intelligence, and the similarities to herding livestock.

Another specialty of police dogs is detection. Dogs have incredibly strong senses of smell, making them invaluable resources for all kinds of police activity, from drug busts to explosive device locations. These pups, often breeds such as bloodhounds and German Shepherds, are taught how to recognize and identify concerning scents in this line of work.

Finally, police K9s are crucial in search and rescue crises. When time is of the essence, first responders need to find as many people who are still alive as possible. Dogs can help because their senses of smell and hearing are much stronger than a humans and would be far more effective at locating where people are, whether it’s under the rubble of a collapsed building or lost in miles of forrest.

With a resume like Creed’s, it’s hard to imagine he gets turned down for a job on Taylor Swift‘s security team. We hope he gets a chance to prove himself and go to one of her concerts this year!
