On Wednesday, November 8, a junior hockey team in Ontario, Canada shared an awesome video about some of their players’ canine companions. In the clip, several dogs are given the spotlight to talk about some of “their problems.” It’s too funny!
It seems as though while these dogs are more than happy to join their dads on the ice, hockey might not be these dogs’ best sport!

Oh my goodness, we are cracking up! The Mississauga Steelheads, members of the Ontario Hockey League, rank third in the league while leading their conference, though these hockey dogs‘ problems certainly aren’t helping.

The problems these dogs have are centered around the challenges they face while trying to play hockey. The video posted by TikTok user @ohlsteelheads shows one pup, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Aksel had little motivation to put effort into performing his goalie duties. Meanwhile another dog, a Golden Retriever named Rickie, couldn’t keep his gloves on. These pups are lucky they’re so cute!
However, that’s not to say these dogs don’t make significant contributions toward the team. Dogs have an incredible knack for boosting the confidence and happiness of their humans, which would reasonably lead to better performances on the ice.
A dog’s unwavering loyalty and boundless affection create an emotional safety net, fostering a sense of security and unconditional love. The daily routines, exercise, and playful interactions with a furry companion often lead to increased self-assurance and a brighter disposition, offering a constant source of joy and support.
These adorable dogs do so much for their dads’ team behind the scene, it’s only fitting that they get a moment in the limelight to be appreciated. Every hockey players needs a hockey dog!
