11 Saturday: The Leonard Maltin Industry Tribute Awards Gala, as part of the Coronado Island Film Festival, will take place at 6 p.m. at Loews Coronado Bay Resort.

The event is a gala evening honoring industry luminaries for their contribution to the art and science of cinematic storytelling. Festival Host and Honorary Jury President, Leonard Maltin, will preside over the evening Tributes.

Maltin will engage with honorees as they take the stage to accept their awards, recognizing the creative contributions of those who have brought their respective genius to the big screen for generations to enjoy.

12 Sunday: Come and meet the artists from “The Dark & Light” exhibition, curated and featuring works by the East County Art Association, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Spreckels Reading Room at Coronado Public Library.

“The Dark and Light” is a captivating exploration of contrasts and creativity. This exhibition delves deep into each artist’s perspective, revealing their interpretation of darkness and light through a myriad of creative mediums.

15 Wednesday: Film Forum Coronado will screen “The Woman in the Window” at 6 p.m. in the Winn Room of the library in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival.

Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

17 Friday: A meeting of the Republican Women’s Club, Coronado Crown City will be held at the Coronado Historical Association Lecture Room, 1100 Orange Ave., at 9:15 a.m.

The speaker will be Carl DeMaio, radio talk show host and founder and chairman of “Reform California.” Among the topic discussed will be Voter ID, upcoming open seats in the California election and California’s planned threats to Prop 13.

All Republican women are encouraged to attend. Men are also welcome and encouraged to become associate members. Independent and undecided voters are welcome.
